Today at work we had a meeting. Half of the team were taken up first, then my group were taken up last. We were told the first group had been given one months notice of end of employment. Thats pretty bad news, but at least they get through Christmas.
We were told that we have one WEEKS notice. This come as a shock to everyone. It was very annoying to find out your about to lose your job over the New Year period. Bah humbug.
The lady from the agency took down my name and said she would get someone to call moi tomorrow about some work at a call centre in town. But the interviews wouldnt start for a few weeks. I was thinking this is my best option and if I cant find anything temp I can always speak to my dad about temporary labour work at his place.
On my way home I got a call from the agency. They told moi that they had had a few new starters taking up training this week at my old work. That one person had dropped out and the agency have spoke with the manager who is more the welcome to have moi back. And that I'll be starting on the 3rd. Ace!
Basically I get to go back to one of my favourite places I've worked at. Work with people I know and who I like. And do a job I know well. Plus the only days Im unemployed are New Years Eve and New Years day. And being a Saturday and Sunday I wasn't going to get paid them days anyway.
Its been a bit of a crazy day today. But it has ended a little sad a I didint get my game I bid for on eBay. Fingers crossed I'll get it tomorrow as I will be able to play it over the Christmas.
But now off to the pub, so that should cheer moi up.

Ok, ok. I know I said I'd be gone for the New Year. Then I came back as I forgot to link the fantastic Ricky Gervais Podcast. So I came back and did that. (I hope you've all downloaded all four episodes and don't forget Ricky and co are back on BBC Radio 2 at 10am on New Years eve.)
Well anyways, I have just read a news article which I've always wondered about.

The article is something I've always thought about. Scientists, or someone, has invented a formulae which shows whether it is possible to get less wet if you walk/run faster.
So I've mainly thought about this when it's spitting. As I dont care about getting a little wet. I always wondered if I ran would I get less wet. I figured I would get to shelter faster so that way I would get less wet, but that is kind of cheating.
So if you were to walk for 5 minutes in the rain and run for 5 minutes in the rain (and exlcuding running to any shelters) would you be less wet doing option two?
Well I say yes!.... Of course. I mean if you run less rain is falling on you.
(AHA! well wont you be running INTO MORE rain! - ED)
Fair point Ed. Thats true. Instead of walking in to rain and getting a little wet, if I ran in to it then I'd get more wet?!?
Well Ive always tried to resolve this battle in my mind evertime it rains.
Well the formulae shows that if you do infact move fast then you do get less wet. And the faster you move the less wet you get. Finally. I can stop my rain thinking.
So there we have it.
