Give moi a job!

Or "I wonder if it is possible to do interviews as quick?"

So, with moi moving to Leeds on Monday I figured it'd be a good idea to start applying for jobs. Left it a bit late like, but better late then never.

I checked out totaljobs.com, which I used a while back and through there already I've applied for 15 jobs. Although I have tried to apply for jobs that are with less well known companies or banks as the chances are Ill have more chance of having acces to the web. Yessssss!

So it feels good knowing that even before I step foot in Leeds and gone to the agencies I have already sent my CV to 15 different places....all I need now is for one to call moi back. Coooome on phone! Ring.

My current employer, the agency not the actaul call centre, have said that although I am in a contract with them that means that they pay moi 4 weeks if Im made redundent apparently this doesnt apply if I decide to move outside of the area. Arse. I wish now I hadnt told them I was moving and let them pay moi the redundency and not just look for jobs with that particular agency.

In other news,

Yesterday it was works leaving do. It was paid for by work, how nice of them, for the entire current work force. I turned up late, after missing my train due to the taxi arriving late. I wasn't too late to order although I did have to sit on the end away from the rabble. And with the noise coming out of my ex-colleagues I was happy to be at the far end. Most of the managers ended up getting pissed and one even fell asleep at the table in the restaurant. Another told moi that he hated moi when I first re-joined and even went as far as informing the agency which got moi a bit of a telling off. Although all that passed as he has made moi an acting supervisor in the last few days, but was good to know that I nearly lost my job due to him having bad judegemental skills.
Nevertheless, I left early as I had to be in work early this morning and I knew there would be no manager in at 830, but it seems I didint miss much. Not really the most memorable of leaving do's.

Tonight I'm off to see my dad. Im hope Im not too late in seeing him as a pint would go down well about now. But I also have to say buy, or 'see you later' at least, to my dad and his family. I think he is a little shocked at the sudden move of moi. But I told him that any promise to climb across some scary cliff edge is still a promise no matter where I am in the world.

Then on Sunday I have a bit of a leaving do with old friends. Nothing to loud, chinese few beers and good company, I mean I do have to be up early on Monday as I am leaving for Leeds. Yesssssss.

Still can't get over the fact that I get to sleep in a hamock for my first few days/weeks. Eeek.

Its hunting season.

Or "This is what I get for reading other peoples blogs."

Well only 7 more hours left until I finish here for good. Thankfully work is slow. Trying to get in to reading some of my old blogs and finding some new ones (dont know why we wont have internet acces for a while - Ed) and I come across Floatykatja's entry on trackbacks. My blog was showing about 2,400, although I did find about 40 and now the figure stands at 2,368. I'am already in to the December archives and still I haven't found the 'Big One.' I know there is bound to be an entry somewhere about Hoff or ducks that has got a cool grands worth of trackbacks, but I cant seem to find it.
First person to find it gets a prize....well they will eventaully, just when I have a job. (See the fantastic dudette for previous prize winners.

Also I picked up season 5 and 6 of Seinfeld. It was delieverd the other day but I wasn't informed by my mum it had arrived. Now I have 2 seasons worth of box DVD's, and as everyone knows American shows are 24 episodes long, which means 24 hours of DVD's. Thankfully though I have learnt that the new housemates are also fans of Seinfeld so I wont have to sit in my room to watch them. What a great new housemate I would of turned out to be stuck in my room for days.

A walk in the park

Or "They even have monkeys here"

So settling in to Leeds is going well. I'm used to the bus routes in and out of town. Im slowly finding my way around the shops. Except I dont know where the KFC is yet.

The job search is slowly progressing. I have done some inital interviews with agencies who have forwarded on my CV to other places. I may have a interview on Saturday for one job. Although there is one interview coming up on either Thursday or Friday. Except I cant get on to gmail to check when my interview is for....arse.

The housemates are both great. One of them has been out auditioning for plays, thats Ruth. But the second, Mandy, Ive spent alot of time with and gotten to know quite well.

The pubs are nice. The quizes are hard and there is some characters. Tonight Im out to a leaving party for someone so will meet new faces and make some new friends.
But Ive just got back from the park. They have a Tropical thing here that has monkeys in. They were asleep or something so didint see them. But I now know that monkeys are only 15 minutes are away. Yessssss.

So this weekend I am spending in Liverpool. I have the Mighty Boosh to see. Cant wait.!

But just to let you all know Im doing great. Cant wait to get a job, but other then that Im absolutely loving it here. Yesssssss!

So thats whats happening

Or "Getting lost in this town gets harder the longer Im here."

So I had a night out with the other flatmate, Ruth, last night. Instead of the pub quiz which we done on Monday/Tuesday, last night was more of a proper drink, pub crawling and staying out late. I found out that the bars aroud here are serving till 1am. Yesssss.

I had a call the other day from an Unknown number. An interview. While on the call I got a second call so I had to take that one, it could of been a second interview. And I have this new phone and didnt know how to switch to the original caller. I ended up disconecting them. Well there went one job. Arse.

Although I have eventually got an actual interview for a job on Tuesday, not just an interview with an agency. So I could be working really soon. Im kind of hoping that this job is with a good slacking off company so I can get back to blogging and emailing.

Anyway I hope your all well.

The Cottontop

Or "How I learnt to be quicker with my camera"

So last night I went to see "The Mighty Boosh" stage show. It was fantastic. Howard "Dark Side of the" Moon and Vince "Huge Hair" Noir were both great. Although I do think that Bob Fossil Stole alot of the show.
Although I have suffered from that problem you get once you have watched something extremely funnier and forget all the good bits.
Showbiz was on top form again. Heckling from the Gods. One line of "Finger a coconut." And another, when the Cockney Man Witch was saying he was pure evil and dragged an infected swan to Scotland Showbiz shouted "And did a shit on it." Which was highly amuzing, although you would of had to of seen the show to actually find either of these funnier. But we dont think that the cast heard Showbiz as he was shouting from beyond the Gods at the very back so he didnt get the the applause he so deserved.
I got a really cool program, which was a little pricey, but still a great souvenir. And I may of taken the binoculars that you get for seating so far back. I wonder if they will send round the heavies to get them back off moi?

Also, Ive been spending alot of my savings. Eeeek. I bought some tickets to see 2 Many DJ's. I havent really heard much by them. But it should be a good night. Although Im currently listening to some of their live stuff and now I cant wait to get to the gig and start from some shapes. All forms and sizes of shapes.
(We have gotten a few live sets off the interweb. Go check out HERE and looked down the left hand side for some freebies. If you really like your funky dirty house music well worth sticking on your mp3 player, for real - Ed)

Also I have finally seen the monkeys. After spending days going to have a look for them at the park Thursday they finally came out of hiding. And I have a little video for you all. And see Sammy, not all are evil.....
(If anyone knows how I can stick a movie from a phone on to the internet let moi know....awww poor monkey.)
If anyone can see the monkey let moi know haha.

Well I have two interviews this week. For actual jobs. Im kind of hoping for the one on Tuesday, not only is it sooner but its for an internet based company so Ill be able to stay in touch alot  more with all you guys and gals.
Guess Im just going to have to knock their socks off in the interview.

Well I think that may be about it for now, except for a quick thank you to Dudette, Amy and Sammy for all their lovely cards and presents.

Well hope you having a great weekend. See you soon
